Feb 16, 2013

TEHRAN, (SANA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, reiterated his country’s support to the efforts which the Syrian government is making to hold the comprehensive national dialogue with the various spectrums of the national opposition.

During his meeting on Saturday with Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran, Adnan Mahmoud, Abdullahian stressed that the Syrian people’s enemies have reached a deadlock in their war against Syria.

He said the entry to solving the crisis in Syria is through renouncing violence and terrorism, having regional countries halt their support for and funding of the gunmen and paving the way for the comprehensive national dialogue.

The Iranian official stressed Tehran’s care for providing all the requirements of steadfastness and support to the Syrian people in the face of the aggressive war waged against them.

Abdullahian indicated the noticeable changes in the regional and international arenas and the failure of foreign bets regarding the events in Syria.

For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud said the latest regional developments have proved the correctness of the Syrian-Iranian strategic vision on the reality of the events in Syria and the region and the dimensions of the Western-U.S. targeting of the resistance system in service of Israel’s interests.

Mahmoud stressed the need for continuous follow-up on expanding the bilateral relations between Syria and Iran through investing their great capabilities to meet the needs of their friendly peoples.
