Wide International Condemnations of DamascusTerrorist Explosion

CAPITALS, (SANA) – International condemnations of the terrorist bombings which hit Damascus in al-Thawra Street in Thursday continued, with China, Russia, Iran and the UN Secretary General expressing strong denunciation of such attacks and calling for a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

China: We Unconditionally Condemn Damascus Bombing

Chinese Foreign Minister, Yang Jiechi, said China unconditionally condemns Damascus bombings which took place on Thursday.

He stressed his country’s support for unbiased approach towards the crisis in Syria, saying that the all parties concerned should build on the Geneva Statement in this regard.

France Condemns the Terrorist Bombings

The French Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the terrorist bombings in Damascus, expressing solidarity with the Syrian people.

Spokesman for the Ministry said on Friday that “Paris is concerned over the escalation of violence in Syria and considers the attacks against civilians unacceptable.”

The statement contradicts those of the French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, where he said, few weeks ago, that he will ask the European Union to lift the embargo on sending weapons to the Syrian armed opposition.

Several credible reports revealed that France is transferring money to leaders of the armed opposition in Turkey, the money is used to buy weapons and fund terrorist attacks committed by the armed opposition against the civilians in Syria.

EU Condemns the Terrorist Bombing

The European Union on Friday condemned the terrorist bombing which took place in al-Thawra Street in Damascus on Thursday.

In a statement, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said nothing can justify such a brutal act that led to the death of so many people, particularly citizens, among them children.

Ashton said that the EU denounces any attack or any form of violence against civilians.

Ki-moon Condemns Terrorist Bombing in Damascus

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned the terrorist bombing which hit al-Thawra St. in Damascus.

Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted the U.N. Spokesman Martin Nesirky as saying that the UN Secretary General reiterated his firm conviction that a political solution is the only way out of the crisis in Syria.

Ban Ki-moon renewed calls to end violence and respect the international humanitarian law.

Slovakia Condemns Bombing, Rejects Violence against Syrian Civilians

Slovakia, for its part, expressed its condemnation of the terrorist bombing in Damascus, stressing its total rejection of the acts of violence being committed against the civilians in various areas in the framework of the crisis in Syria.

Head of the Press Department at the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Renata Goldnerova, said the Ministry is confident that there is still a way to reach a political solution to the internal crisis in Syria.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Goldnerova stressed Slovakia’s full support to the mediation mission of the UN Envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi.

Syrians in Slovakia: We Won’t Be Terrified by These Terrorist Acts

Meanwhile, the Syrian expatriates and students in Slovakia voiced their condemnation of the terrorist blast, denouncing some countries of the Gulf and the West for providing the armed terrorist groups with the money and weapons to carry out such acts.

They reiterated in a statement their confidence that the Syrian Arab Army will soon put an end to the practices of these terrorist groups “which will never terrify the Syrians as they will remain committed to their homeland’s unity and stability.”

Syrian Students in Bulgaria: Terrorists’ Supporters in Qatar and Turkey Are to Blame

The National Union of Syrian Students branch in Bulgaria condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing, saying it had been planned by the terrorist groups’ supporters in Qatar, Turkey and the Gulf.

“We the Syrian students in Bulgaria swear…that we won’t forget what they did to our life, people and Syrian identity,” said a statement by the Union’s branch, stressing that Syria will remain a “beacon of glory” and its Army will remain the defender of the homeland along with President Bashar al-Assad.

Moscow Calls for Pressuring Extremists in Syria to Stop Terrorist Acts

Russia on Thursday condemned the terrorist bombing which hit Damascus, calling upon all influential countries to demand extremists in Syria immediately stop such terrorist practices.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Alexander Lukashevich, stressed Moscow’s condemnation of this terrorist operation, adding that “Once again, we call upon all countries and parties, which might influence the extremists and radicals, to pressure them and demand immediate stop of such terrorist acts and armed violence in order to create appropriate atmosphere to hold a Syrian dialogue that is based on Geneva statement issued last June, 2010.”

Lukashevich noted that the bombing caused damage to the surrounding residential buildings and the Russian Embassy in Damascus, stressing that none of the Embassy staff members or their families were affected in the bombing.

Iran: Inhuman Acts of Syria’s Enemies Seek to Hinder Political Reforms, Destabilize Internal Security in the Country

Iran strongly condemned the terrorist explosion of al-Thawar street in Damascus which claimed the lives of scores of civilian martyrs including children and students, describing these criminal acts as inhuman.

“Through those terrorist acts, enemies of Syria seek to obstruct the political reforms and destabilize internal security in the country,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

It called on all political sides in Syria to confront those inhuman acts.

Hizbollah condemns the terrorist Attack

Lebanese Hizbollah on Thursday condemned the terrorist explosion which hit Damascus, stressing that the immoral method of killing and destruction is made by the world intelligence terrorist gangs.

“The method of killing and destruction that govern those terrorist gangs is a method which is strange of our religion and morals.. it is made by the gangs of world intelligence terrorism which inherited it to those groups that hide behind Islam which is innocent from their crimes,” the Lebanese party said in a statement.

Chinese Ambassador in Lebanon Condemns the terrorist Bombing

China’s Ambassador in Beirut, Wu Zexian denounced the terrorist bombing that hit Damascus, hoping the situation in Syria will return to calm as soon as possible.

During a tour in Sidon, The Chinese Ambassador said that violence wouldn’t solve any problem, adding “the only solution is through dialogue.”

Arab Teachers Union Holds Terrorism-supporting Countries Responsible for Damascus Bombing

The General Secretariat of the Arab Teachers Union condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing, holding the countries which are funding and sponsoring terrorism responsible for “these coward terrorist acts”.

In a statement, the Union called upon the international community, the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League and the relevant human rights organizations to “announce a clear position towards these acts carried out by al-Qaeda under an international and Arab political cover.”

Syrian Communities in Czech, France Condemn al-Thawra Terrorist Bombing

The Syrian community in Czech condemned on Thursday the terrorist bombing which hit al-Mazraa neighborhood in Damascus, stressing that it is new evidence on the bankruptcy of the armed terrorist groups.

In a statement, the Syrian community said that the terrorist bombing reflects the continuation of the so-called opposition to wager on terrorism, discarding all calls voiced by the Syrian Government to initiate dialogue to reach a political solution.

The Syrian community offered condolences to the families of the martyrs, stressing that despite the brutality of this terrorist bombing, the Syrian people, army and leadership will go ahead with eliminating the armed terrorist groups.

The Syrian community in France also denounced the terrorist bombing in al-Thawra Street, pointing out that this act sums up the terrorist path of the extremist forces which aim at hindering all attempts to dialogue and restore security to Syria.

Brahimi: Damascus Bombings are War crimes

The UN special envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi condemned the terrorists bombing that took place in al-Thawra street in Damascus and claimed scores of innocents lives , including women, children and schools students.

In a statement, Brahimi considered the bombing as war crimes, adding that brutal acts like bombings are unjustified and punishable by international law.

Sit-In Held in Jerusalem in Condemnation of Damascus Terrorist Bombing

A number of the Palestinians in Jerusalem held a sit-in in the yard of the Resurrection Church in solidarity with Syria and in condemnation of the terrorist bombing which killed scores of civilians.

The participants lighted candles, whishing that peace would prevail in Syria.
