Mar 03, 2013
DAMASCUS, (SANA) – The Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on the procedures to implement the political program to solve the crisis held a meeting on Sunday chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi with Damascus University professors within the framework of paving the ground for launching dialogue to resolve the crisis in Syria.
The Prime Minister said that the government has made strides in implementing the political program for resolving the crisis in Syria, affirming that the government is open to all active forces in society without eliminating or excluding anyone.
He reviewed the procedures made to encourage the dialogue process, pave the ground to make it succeed, provide requirements for decent living for the displaced Syrians to come back home, and inviting all opposition forces inside and abroad – including the local coordination committees and the armed groups – to take part in dialogue according to national principles and discarding violence.
In turn, the professors stressed that the priorities are ending violence, speeding up dialogue procedures, and expanding communication channels with opposition groups, underlining the need for dialogue to be among all Syrians and to encompass all their groups and components.
The professors called for enhancing the rule of law, equal opportunities, social justice and combating corruption.
