Iranians Produce Anti-Cancer Herbal Medicine
Iranian researchers of the Department of Botany in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences succeeded in producing the anti-cancer Taxotere medicine that Iran imported at a cost that reached 50 million dollars annually.
Researchers reiterated that Taxotere is considered the most used and most expensive product to treat some types of cancer, stressing on the necessity of manufacturing medical products domestically in light of foreign sanctions imposed on Iran.
The raw material of this medicine is found in the leaves of the Taxus Baccata tree present in North Iran, and manufacturing this product from Taxus leaves is extremely complicated and critical.
