Two Army and Civilian Martyrs Laid to Rest    Dec 22, 2011

PROVINCES,(SANA)- With flower and laurel wreaths and while the Military Band was playing the music of the “Martyr” and the “Farewell”, two army and civilian martyrs on Thursday were escorted from Tishreen and Homs Military Hospitals to their final resting place.  The martyrs were killed at the hands of the armed terrorist groups while they were performing their national duty in Homs and Damascus Countryside.  Solemn funeral ceremony was held for the martyrs as they were carried up on the shoulders of their colleagues covered with the national flag. The martyrs are: -Corporal, Majd Mohammad Ali from Lattakia. -Civilian Munajjed Hassan Ibrahim from Homs. Relatives of the martyrs expressed confidence that the Syrian people are able to overcome the current crisis through their adherence to the national unity. They affirmed that the sacrifices of the martyrs fortify Syria and make it more able to face the challenges and to defend its stances which have always rejected the policies of hegemony   ( Fonte: www.sana.sy )

Lavrov : We Hope Work of Arab Observers Mission in Syria Would be Objective   Dec 22, 2011

MOSCOW,(SANA)- Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov expressed hope that the work of the Arab observes mission would be objective, and would contribute in coordination with the Syrian leadership to reaching a settlement of the crisis through the efforts exerted by the Syrians themselves and not through the foreign interference. The remarks came during a phone call with the Arab League (AL) Secretary-General, Nabil al-Arabi which dealt with the situation in the Middle East. Talks during the phone call focused on the AL efforts to help in achieving stability and to quickly stop the violence in Syria through sending observers mission to it according to the protocol signed between Syria and the AL Secretariat-General. DARAA/ IDLEB/ HOMS,(SANA)- Authorities in Daraa and Idleb countryside stormed dens of armed terrorist groups , arresting tens of wanted men who committed crimes of killing, attacked and sabotaged private and public properties. The operation comes after investigations, pursuit and information received about crimes perpetrated by armed terrorists in the countryside of Daraa and Idleb. Official sources told SANA that following to clashes with members of those groups, a number of the terrorists have been killed and others wounded with big quantities of weapons, ammunitions, explosives and night goggles in addition to modern communication sets have been seized. a Colonel’s Legs Amputated by explosive An explosive device exploded on Wednesday inside the engine of a car belonging to a colonel in al-Shammas neighborhood in Homs province, central Syria, causing him to lose his two legs, in addition to wounds all over his body. SANA correspondent in Homs was informed that as Col. Ali Mohammad al-Younis ran his car, the explosive device went off, which was planted by an armed terrorist group. He said that the colonel was immediately transferred to Homs Military Hospital where he had his legs amputated. One Passenger Martyred, 6 Others Injured in Terrorist Attack Meanwhile, an armed terrorist group attacked three passenger microbuses near al-Nasr roundabout at Homs city entrance, which resulted in one martyr, Haitham Abdul-Hai Abbas, and six citizens wounded. Driver of State Car Killed by Gunfire of an Armed Group A bus belonging to the Military Housing Establishment in Homs was also attacked by an armed terrorist group, as its members opened fire on the bus, killing the driver Munjid Ibrahim, who was on his way to pick up employees on al-Siteen road. 3 Terrorists Arrested, a Woman Killed in Youth Housing Compound Neighborhood In another context, the authorities in Homs arrested three terrorists as they were firing from a taxi on citizens in a Youth Housing Compound neighborhood in the city.
